CONSUM

Museum C is pleased to announce its support for the exhibition of CONSUM, a space dedicated to better care of Berlin artists.
Many artists in Berlin rely on public funding to sustain their artistic careers, yet alternative income sources remain necessary to maintain their livelihoods. CONSUM draws a connection between this reality and the GDR's “Konsum” cooperative shop system, where resources were distributed equally. This ironic parallel of "equality" forms the foundation of the exhibition and pop-up store, CONSUM.
During the first weekend of September, CONSUM will transform Galerie Met into a pop-up store selling essentials for Berlin artists. All products will be uniformly priced at 9.90 EUR, giving buyers an equal chance to choose a sealed voucher, redeemable for the designated item on the inventory list.
